The Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund is the new name for all the work the National Research Center for Women & Families does to help adults and children reduce their risk of getting cancer and to make sure that everyone gets the best possible treatment.

New research is being completed every week and expert opinions change frequently. We scrutinize all of it and find out what prevention strategies and treatments are best, and for whom. We accept NO funding from drug companies or other sources that could influence our work and compromise our integrity. That's why so many people turn to us when they need help.

We depend on donations, so we hope you will add our Center to your list of favorite charities. Your tax-free donation will enable us to do more to improve the lives of women, children, and families across the country. Contributions can be made by check or online. And, if you contribute to the Combined Federal Campaign, you can support our work by contributing to # 11967. If you contribute to United Way, please write in our organization's name because the number will not work.

Levels of Giving

Donations of any size are welcome. Donors making a contribution of $50 or more will receive a complimentary copy of our new book, Survival Guide for Working Moms (and Other Stressed Out Adults), which covers everything from caring for an elderly parent to monitoring kids on the Internet. Pick up a copy of this valuable resource for you or someone you love with a donation to NRC.


Your generous donation of $100 or more will enroll you in our Circle of Friends. Contributions of $250 or more will enroll you in our Leadership Circle. Donations of $1,000 or more will enroll you in the President's Circle.

Your support makes a difference! Here's some examples of how you might want to designate your donations - but if you have other ideas, just let us know:

• $5,000 can be a "Legacy" gift to pay for a one-semester Fellowship named in honor of someone whose legacy you'd like us to continue. For example, you can honor a loved one who died from cancer with a Fellowship named after him or her that helps improve treatment for cancer patients. Or you can honor a wonderful mother with a Fellowship named for her and focused on advocating for policies that help working moms.
• $2,500 can support our work to improve the medical treatment of children and adults with cancer or other serious illnesses
• $1,000 can support our Survival Guides for Military Families series, to help make their lives easier
• $   100 - $250 will help us keep dangerous prescription drugs and implants off the market
• $   100 can support our efforts to teach young women on one campus how to avoid date rape
• $     40 can support one day of our Online Health Hotline, which provides personalized medical information to anyone who contacts us
